Walter Newman, Director of Paper Conservation
Walter Newman has worked in the field of conservation for over 30 years. He holds a Masters Degree and certificate in conservation from the Cooperstown Graduate Programs. Mr. Newman served as NEDCC’s Senior Paper Conservator for fourteen years, managing many of the center’s most difficult and challenging projects.

Book Conservation Laboratory

Deborah Wender, Director of Book Conservation
Deborah Wender has worked in the field of book conservation since 1979. Her varied education includes study at Centro del bel Libro in Switzerland, private and group study in the U.S., and production in a commercial bindery. She is a member of AIC, the Guild of Book Workers, ALA, and SAA.

Victoria Ellis has worked in the photographic duplication and microfilm fields since 1989. She was the Microfilm Production Coordinator at NEDCC for six years. Victoria holds a degree in Fine Art/Photography from Salem State College.

Field Service Office

Lori Foley, Director of Field Service
Lori Foley began working at NEDCC as a Field Service Representative in 2001. She worked at Tozzer Library at Harvard for six years and was awarded a certificate in hand bookbinding from the North Bennet Street School. Prior to changing careers, she was a production manager in various Boston trade-book publishing houses. She is a member of ALA, AIC, and the Guild of Book Workers.

Administration

John H. Ott , Interim Executive Director,
John Ott will help guide NEDCC through the transition period following the retirement of Executive Director Ann Russell and will oversee the launch of a national search for a permanent director. He previously served as Executive Director of the Scottish Rite Masonic National Heritage Museum and Library in Lexington, Massachusetts, and has also served as Executive Director at Hancock Shaker Village, the Atlanta Historical Society, and the B&O Railroad Museum.
